A Health Journey in a Nutshell

When I was 10 or 11, I started having multiple symptoms of IBD, so much abdominal pain I couldn’t stand it. In my quest for diagnosis for these symptoms, I was subsequently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, GERD, and endometriosis. I was sent to a dietitian who had no real experience with serious digestive illnesses or children. It took another decade to finally get the Crohn’s diagnosis. Another 8 years later, and I was diagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppurativa.

I have been able to recover from reflux, most of the time, but still deal with my other chronic illnesses on a daily basis. Not just the overt symptoms - fatigue, digestive issues, but also the ubiquitous ones - brain fog, soreness, not sleeping well.

So when I tell you I understand, I really do understand. I have personal experience with weight issues, digestive issues, autoimmune disorders, a dairy allergy, gluten intolerance, and chronic illnesses. I have also gone through a two year internship giving me experience with everyone from neonates to inmates to gerontological patients.

I also have plenty of experience with sleep disorders, insomnia, and mental health concerns. Trauma from being ill during childhood to chronic illness while trying to write a thesis, doing clinicals, and having your beloved puppy pass all while being across the country has embedded me with one of the deepest senses of empathy. We work in nutrition, but we also work in other areas of life as well.

All of this leads me to wanting to work with people who want change, who want relief, who want someone to relate and understand. My business is definitely a starter and a work in progress, but my nutrition experience, personal and professional, speaks for itself. *If you are looking for just a meal plan, my help may not be the one you are looking for. Here, we delve deeper. I give you the tools to make change in your own life - and learn what your body needs. Not just a path for the now, but tools for forever.

While my passion is in autoimmune disorders, Celiac disease, mental health, and digestive disease, I love to work with anyone who wants to change and improve the way they feel! I’d love to speak with you about your journey and what you want to see in your future!
